Police find fake bomb at BTR Metro Airport
BATON ROUGE - Police gave the all-clear after a suspicious item found in the Baton Rouge Metro Airport's parking garage this morning was determined to be a fake bomb.
Cpl. L'Jean McKneely told News 2 crews on the scene that the device was a group of wooden sticks painted to look like dynamite, with a timer attached to the top of it.
The garage and terminal front re-opened to passengers around 11:45 a.m. Before that arriving passengers were being directed to park in the service lot and were shuttled into a conference room for precautionary measures.
The airport remained open and flights operated normally throughout the incident. You can get the latest on parking and flight conditions by checking the BTR Metro Airport website.
We'll have more information coming up on News 2 at noon.
