Person of interest arrested after Zachary shooting
ZACHARY - Police arrested a man they're calling a person of interest during their investigation into a drive-by shooting that left two people injured.
Police arrested Deandre Singleton on multiple bench warrants for other crimes and are speaking to him about the shooting.
The shooting happened just after sundown on Avenue G near East Central Ave in Zachary. Police think the violence stemmed from a neighborhood dispute.
"From what I understand, we had a little neighborhood feud that has been going on for awhile and it escalated to a point yesterday where someone used a weapon," said Chief of Police David McDavid.
Chief McDavid said investigators are still trying to pinpoint a possible suspect and ask anyone with information to contact the police department.
Both people shot are expected to survive.
