Okla. tornado victims get taste of Cajun cooking

MOORE, Ok. - Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley took a handful of deputies to the tornado devastated area to give back to first responders in need of a good meal.

"Frankly when you have devastation as you have here, particularly when it involves young children in a grade school, I mean it just kinda touched our heart and we wanted to do something," said Wiley.

Wiley's crew has cooked for first responder since Monday, preparing traditional cajun dishes like crawfish etouffee and alligator sauce piquante.

"All the Moore Police Department and Moore Fire Department and the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office and the National Guard, they've been eating well, and they need to because this community's been through a lot," said Wiley.

Wiley will prepare Gonzales signature jambalaya this evening, something he hopes will leave a good taste in the mouths of so many, who are working so hard.
