No motive in Geismar murder
GEISMAR - The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office is still trying to determine why someone shot and killed Herman Tasker, 58, outside his home Saturday night.
Deputies responded to River Oaks in Geismar and found Tasker dead in his driveway around 11 p.m.
"He was shot in the face area," Major Kevin Hanna said.
The investigation, so far, indicates Tasker went to work and returned home around 6 p.m. Investigators said, he visited with friends and family early that evening.
"Next thing you know someone came to visit him that night and found him in the driveway," Hanna said.
So far, the sheriff's office has not established a motive. Family members said nothing was stolen from his home, and they cannot think of any enemies Tasker may have had.
