CENTRAL - City officials published a warning on Facebook Friday about Ninja-looking nail contraptions that are being thrown on roadways and putting holes in vehicle tires.
"Two nails welded together to look like spikes; it's not something that you can buy in a store. It is defenitely something that is man made for some type of vandalism," mechanic Deuce Ransome said. Ransome, of Ross Tire and Service said he has replaced numerous tires damaged due to the spikes.
People posted on social media that the spikes have caused damage on numerous roads.
Officials asked people to report spikes and damage to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office. Despite numerous postings about the issue, including one where a person wrote their son has hit them ten times, deputies said they have not received any complaints.
