BATON ROUGE - Old shutters can be put to good use by putting them up for display, or even helping to hide some unsightly parts of the house.
Do-it-yourself expert Julie Laperouse enjoys finding new ways to use old junk to help spruce up your home. She said shutters are good for putting things on display, like your kids' art.
She also recommended buying power tools without a battery pack, to make the tool more functional. Laperouse stressed that the battery pack carries the majority of the weight.
