New security measures at City Hall

BATON ROUGE - Four security doors were recently installed on the third floor of City Hall.

Metro Councilman John Delgado requested them after reports of people walking freely into personal council offices during meetings.

"This is a public building. We want to make it accessible to people, but at the same time we have to take precautions just in case to protect our staff," Delgado said.

The doors cost nearly $30,000 in tax dollars. Delgado said he takes either the credit or the blame for the added security.

"I think it's much better to put the money in now than to have than after something bad happens to say gee if we had only we had had security doors there we wouldn't have had this happen," Delgado said.
