New mission for the Brothers of the Sacred Heart
BATON ROUGE - This week is Catholic Schools Week in Baton Rouge. If you went to Catholic School here, you likely have some connection to the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.
Their new mission is to give new hope to adults by helping them achieve their high school diplomas. Brother Paul Montero joined us on 2une In this morning with all the details.
"Back in September...the Brothers decided we wanted to do more for young, specifically young people looking for a second chance," he told News 2's John Pastorek.
Brother Paul says they're goal is prepare young people to take the test. There are questions in English, math, science, social studies and essay writing. The program is for young adults 17-23. They teach from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday-Thursday. The New Hope Learning Center is located at 2926 Florida Blvd. in Baton Rouge.
