Multiple house fires investigated in New Roads
NEW ROADS - Investigators used dogs and other methods to check the scenes of several house fires in New Roads this morning which are suspected to be part of a string of arsons.
Fire investigators said seven homes in and around New Roads burned in the last two days.
According to the State Fire Marshal's Office, the first fire happened Monday night at 11:30 p.m. on St. Peter Street. They said two more fires were reported Tuesday afternoon and evening on Dolph Street and Lindsly Street, and then four more fires were reported between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Wednesday on Clay Street, St. Peter Street, and Poydras.
