Movie filming to close part of Government St. Monday
BATON ROUGE - A section of Government Street east of Interstate 110 will be closed to traffic for the shooting of an independent film for most of Monday.
The shooting for the feature film "Vincent-N-Roxxy" will close the eastbound and westbound lanes of Government Street between South 12th Street and Park Avenue from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 12. During the filming, traffic alternate interstate access will be directed toward North Blvd.
The Mayor's Office said the independent feature, produced by Unified Pictures and directed by Gary Michael Schultz, is the story of a small town loner and a rebellious punk rocker who unexpectedly fall in love as they are forced on the run and soon discover violence follows them everywhere. The all-star cast includes Emile Hirsch, Zoe Kravtiz, Zoey Deutch and Scott Mescudi.
Anyone with questions or concerns about the road closure should contact Liza Kelso of the Baton Rouge Film Commission at (225) 382-3563.
