Monday morning video forecast

Related Story

This week will bring quiet weather. Rain chances are out until next weekend and temperatures will be seasonable ahead of some slight warming Thursday and Friday.

THE FORECAST:

Today and Tonight: Your Monday will bring mostly sunny skies with passing clouds as a weak cold front moves across the region. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s. Look for clear skies overnight with lows in the low 50s.

Up Next: Weather will not change much through the week with sunny skies, highs in the low 70s, and lows in the low 50s. As we approach the weekend however, temperatures will climb a bit and the humidity will increase. This is in advance of another system that will push across this area. This may bring some showers on Saturday, but we will feel another drop in temperatures with lows getting down into the 40s by Saturday night. The week of Thanksgiving looks to be cool. It may actually "feel" like Thanksgiving. That is a ways out though so we will see how the forecast changes.

The Tropics: Way out in the Atlantic Ocean, a disturbance more than 500 miles south of the Azores has a 50 percent chance of development as it moves northeast over the next 5 days. If anything becomes of this system, it will likely be subtropical and will not impact the U.S. in any way.

THE EXPLANATION:

A weak cold front is dropping south across the central Gulf Coast. Winds will be northeasterly thanks to this boundary and this will allow dew points to tumble back into the low 50s and upper 40s resulting in a more fall-like feel for the next several days. High pressure will build over the area and mainly clear skies are anticipated through midweek. Temperatures will be very close to seasonal average with highs in the low 70s and lows in the low 50s. Highs will be creeping back up later this week as an upper trough to the east moves out into the Atlantic Ocean. The next chance of rain and another cool down will be this weekend.
