Miss. woman claims $1 million lotto ticket
ST. FRANCISVILLE - A Mississippi woman claimed a Powerball ticket worth $1 million today which she purchased in St. Francisville.
"The dream came true," said Samantha Netterville, who bought the winning Powerball ticket from the May 11 drawing.
She matched all five numbers, but missed Powerball.
"When I went to cash it in, the lady told me it was a hit, and I just couldn't believe it at first," said Netterville.
"It's just kind of unbelievable. And that's because small towns, everyone knows everybody, we have regular customers on a daily basis, so you can only imagine, I know it's somebody I know," said Rechel Williams, who was working at the food mart when the winning ticket was purchased.
Now, exactly what Netterville plans to do with the winnings is the million-dollar question.
"I'm going to pay off what I have, I'm going to go set up accounts for my kids, step kids, grandkids, make sure that they can have something to live off of," said Netterville. "I'm going to give back to the folks that have helped me. The folks that sold the ticket, I think that they deserve something."
