Michael Vinsanau is a multimedia journalist for WBRZ News 2. He joined our team in June 2015.
Michael is a Chalmette native who began his studies at LSU and finished at Southeastern Louisiana University. As a student he worked for the Southeastern Channel, coming in second for “Best Hard News Reporter”at the Southeast Journalism Conference, and was nominated for a student Emmy.
His passion for journalism stems from his deep desire to be connected with the community. Despite working here in Baton Rouge, Vinsanau resides in Maringouin, Louisiana. He believes, “it’s a nice change in pace from living in the city.”
In his free time, Vinsanau enjoys watching sports, “everything from football, to NASCAR, and even cheerleading.” Fun fact: Michael was a cheerleader for both LSU and Southeastern.
