Meth lab found during search for fugitives
ZACHARY - The search for a West Baton Rouge Parish fugitive ended with the discovery of a meth lab.
The Zachary Police Department arrested 29-year-old Jeremie Ortega on drug charges today. U.S. Marshals earlier alerted police that he could be in the area.
Police said Ortega had been seen at a home in the 2600 block of Church Street. When they investigated the address, officers said they found the meth labs.
Seven homes in the area were evacuated for precautionary measures.
Ortega was arrested and charged with burglary. No arrest were made in connection with the meth lab.
Police said the investigation is continuing, and more arrests are possible.
