Man uses forklift to rescue family from flooded roadway
BATON ROUGE - One family was rescued by a man who watched as people got stranded in hight water during a thunderstorm Tuesday afternoon.
David Dunham and a friend said they decided it was their chance to give back to other people in need. Dunham watched many people trying to help drivers, but when he saw one car with a family inside he pulled out a forklift, and came to their rescue.
"She had kids and I just wanted to help," said Dunham, who added he was not expecting any credit.
He and his friend were getting off work and used their resources to help the woman who became stranded in the water on Choctaw Drive, near Airline.
