BATON ROUGE – A man was booked into jail on seven felonies related to the sexual assault of four members of his family – two girls and two teenage boys.
The case was revealed in arrest documents obtained by WBRZ News 2 Saturday morning. Overnight, Garry Jackson, 37, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on sexual battery, rape, and molestation of a juvenile. He faces multiple counts on the various charges.
WBRZ is protecting the relationship of the suspect to the victims as to not identify the victims directly.
In a police report, detectives wrote Jackson raped the two young girls multiple times over the last few years. Authorities said Jackson also touched the teenage boys, too, and sometimes tried to have group sex with everyone involved in the case.
The girls told detectives Jackson would lure them into what he called his “man cave” where assaults often took place. At the time of his arrest, Jackson's address was listed as 2360 Pin Oak Drive in Baton Rouge. Police reported the victims also said Jackson had another house around the corner.
It took investigators a year to arrest Jackson because family members complicated the investigation. At points, family members gave contradicting statements about when and if the kids were ever alone with Jackson. Eventually, the mother of one of the victims told police her child shared disturbing details about the attacks, leading to better cooperation. It was not clear if family members intentionally protected Jackson.
