BATON ROUGE - Hundreds of students at LSU are preparing for an event aimed at raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The organization "Up Til Dawn" hopes to raise $75,000

"Their mission is that no children should be left without a chance to fight," Executive Director Lara Hutchinson explained this morning on 2une In. "They should be able to go in and out without paying any costs."

"it's called Up Til Dawn because St. Jude founder Danny Thomas said no child should die in the dawn of their life," says Event and Logistics Director Tyler Viator.

LSU Up Til Dawn's event is from midnight to 6 a.m. On Friday, February 20th. The year's theme is "Road Trip", since six hours is how long it takes to drive from Baton Rouge to Memphis. Students will be dressed as tacky tourists and hear a patient speaker from St. Jude.

So far, they've raised just over $55,000 towards their goal. Visit their website to donate or learn more about the event.
