Omaha, Neb. - LSU has taken down Florida State University in the first game of the College World Series Saturday night.

Alex Lange and the LSU Tiger baseball team got off to a rough start against Florida State in their opening game at the College World Series.

The Seminole's hit a first inning two run home-run and have added to it in the third.

FSU's Dylan Busby smashed a two run homer in the second at-bat of the game to put the Seminole's out in front 2-0 getting to LSU starter Alex Lange early.

LSU was able to answer in a crazy play that saw Antoine Duplantis score from first base when Greg Deichmann struck out swinging on a ball in the dirt that got away from FSU catcher Cal Raleigh.

Leading 2-1 in the third, Busby again got to Lange as he smacked a liner back up the middle scoring Taylor Walls who lead off the inning with a double.

LSU would trial 3-1 before a critical steal from Cole Freeman got LSU back in the ball game.  Freeman would score from second on an RBI single from Duplantis.

FSU would answer with another single run in the fifth, but the Tigers would pull back to within a run when catcher Mike Papierski blasted a solo home-run to left to make it a 4-3 game.

The Tigers eventually scored two runs to come back in the eighth inning, leading 5-4. The Tigers held on to that score to win the first game of the series.

LSU will take the field once again on Monday for game two of the series.
