LSU Gymnastics Falls in NCAA Semis

BATON ROUGE - Coming into the year for LSU gymnastics, the dream was bringing home the first national title in program history.

While those expectations were going to be a challenge, no one expected for the Lady Tigers to not advance to Saturday and the Super Six.

That nightmare becoming reality for LSU friday, as the Tigers finished 5th in the 2nd NCAA Semifinal with a 196.550, their lowest score of the year.

LSU getting out to a good start at first, firmly in the top 3 after three rotations. But falls on beam by Erin Macadaeg and Ashleigh Gnat, plus a 9.30 by Lloimincia Hall dug the Tigers in a hole they couldn't climb out of.

It's a bitter and unfitting ending to one of the greatest seasons in LSU gymnastics history. The Tigers finished the SEC regular season undefeated, including an upset over Number 2 Florida. They also set attendance number records, selling out the PMAC for the last two home meets.

This was the last team meet for LSU seniors Rheagan Courville, Lloimincia Hall and Jessie Jordan. They will compete in the NCAA individual finals Sunday at 2.
