LSU coaches take Cold Water Challenge for charity
BATON ROUGE - The practice of dousing the winning coach of the big game with gallons of frigid Gatorade has moved beyond mere team shenanigans to become a sports institution that borders on ritual.
LSU softball coach Beth Torina and head football coach Les Miles are the latest to take the "Chillin' for Charity Challenge", which uses the celebratory act to raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
The Kay Yow Cancer Fund, founded in 2007 by a former North Carolina State head women's basketball coach, supports cancer research and provides grants through fundraising events and partnerships.
