LPSO: Coach accused of having girls strip for measurements
LIVINGSTON - Deputies arrested a former Livingston Parish School System employee today after investigating claims of indecent behavior with underaged girls.
Investigators arrested Thomas Broady, 25, at his Denham Springs home this morning. According to school documents, he was a substitute teacher at Live Oak High School last school year, and also worked as a weightlifting coach.
Deputies said they received a tip last week Broady had inappropriate contact with underage girls, and an investigation identified six female victims. The alleged incidents happened between the end of September and the beginning of October.
According to a statement of probable cause, Broady was accused of having the girls take off their shirt, shorts and bras while he measured them for power lifting uniforms. This was allegedly done while both Broady and the student he was measuring were alone.
Broady is charged with 14 counts of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, and his bond is set at $350,000.
Anyone with information about this case should contact the LPSO Juvenile Office at (225) 686-2241, ext. 308.
