LIVEcapitalized.com wants to connect BR residents

BATON ROUGE - Melissa Thompson from the Baton Rouge Area Chamber briefly visited with Brittney Weiss on our Friday 4 p.m. show to talk about a recently launched website designed to help residents of the Capital Region get the most out of life in the area.

The site, called LIVEcapitalized, targets new citizens of Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas, but Melissa says that even long-time residents of the Red Stick can benefit from the content served up on the very user-friendly web page.

Information on the site ranges from details on the various neighborhoods of the region to schools and daycares and even upcoming events. It is a comprehensive guide to getting set up in Baton Rouge and how to make sure your experience is the best it can possibly be. The site is split into four categories, community, career, downtime and connect, to allow users to quickly tap into the resources they need without wasting time searching around on an overly complicated or poorly organized alternative.

While the site is a resource itself, Melissa says it is set up in such a way as to serve as a link to many other sources of information in the region. LIVEcapitalized.com aims to connect people who are new to the area with local businesses, news sources (like your's truly), and even job opportunities with the overall goal being to make life in the Capital City more fulfilling.

Finally, the website serves as the online home for the Baton Rouge Area Chamber's talent program. BRAC will continue to offer recruiting and assimilation services in the face-to-face fashion they have provided for the past two years, but the site is part of the chamber's initiative to have as much of the resources they offer as possible available online so that people can access it at any time.

You can visit the website today at www.livecapitalized.com. If you have questions about the site or the services offered by BRAC, they can be reached by phone at (225) 381-7125 or e-mail at talent@brac.org.
