Juban Crossing officially opens its doors
DENHAM SPRINGS - After years of delays and funding setbacks the Juban Crossing shopping center opened Wednesday for business.
Delay after delay put doubt in the minds of some Livingston Parish residents as the wait for the shopping center lingered on.
"Oh forever, I didn't think it would happen in my lifetime, but I am so excited that it has," said shopper Karen Williams.
Belk and Petsmart both officially opened, and parish residents took advantage of shopping close to home.
"I got luggage. I got jewelry. We're looking for tops. We got overnight bags... just anything that looks good, and everything is wonderful here," said Williams "It's going to really, really bring it up to where we want it to be. It's just going to be nice to not have to go to Baton Rouge and keep the money in our own parish."
Three other stores will open the last week of October, and even more stores will open in November.
