Jetson Escapees Captured
BATON ROUGE- Four day taste of freedom comes to an end for two teens who escaped the Jetson Correctional Facility last week.
Authorities arrested 18-year-old Clarence Mcwilliams and 15- year old Damonte Washington at a house on America Street Saturday night after they broke out of the facility on Tuesday.
For the past few days they've been living in fear never knowing if one of the escapees will show up at their door.
Alfred Varnado lives near Jetson he says, "I was scared.. They could've taken me because I don't ever stay inside."
Their charges ranging from simple burglary to car jacking.
Dorothy Duncan says, "It gives us a sense of anxiety because we don't know if they're gonna come where we live."
Jetson director Daron Brown was placed on leave after officials he acted on a misleading tip saying the teens were I-10 headed to New Orleans.
Less than a year ago, three other Jetson employees were placed on leave, and one fired after three teens escaped in December of 2011.
Mcwilliams was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison while Washington is in the EBR Parish Juvenile Detention Center.
