I-10 widening completion date pushed back
BATON ROUGE - Due to inclement weather in January, the Department of Transportation and Development anticipates it will take at least another month to finish the widening project.
There isn't much left to do, but what is left cannot be completed until the roadway dries out.
"We were hoping to have it done in the beginning or middle of January. But now as it stands we're looking at sometime in early to mid February to have all six lanes open," Bill Grass, a spokesperson for DOTD's Geaux Wider team said.
The contractor was allotted a certain number of "weather days" for January. If more are needed, which may be the case, DOTD will grant those to the contractor.
