Help with heating costs this winter
Entergy just gave the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging $33,000 to help low income elderly or disabled Entergy users. Each customer is limited on the amount they can get every year, but retired school teacher Jeanette Bishop said it definitely helps.
"It just stresses you out when you don't know how you going to pay your bills and energy is something you have to have. They helped me with my energy twice. It was much needed, it was much needed then," Bishop said.
The DEMCO Foundation has donated $4 million since it started in 1997. All proceeds from the donations go to the energy users in need.
