Fleur de Leaf Dance Studio
BATON ROUGE- Belly Dancing is widely known as an art form, but not many people know it can also be used as a means of exercise.
Katie Gromlovits from the Fleur De Leaf dance studio stopped by 2une In this morning to show News 2's John Pastorek how belly dancing can keep people looking fit.
"I was looking for a way to get fit but I wasn't into the typical gym workout," said Gromlovits. "I'd much rather do something that I can have fun with."
Belly dancing originated in the Middle East. Over time it has evolved into the version that we are familiar with today.
Fleur De Leaf Studio is one of the gyms taking part in the Baton Rouge Fitness Crawl that's going on right now. If you want more information on the belly dancing workout or you want to check out some of the classes offered, click here.
