Family wants Angola 3 in prison

BATON ROUGE - The brother of security guard Brent Miller, stabbed to death at the state penitentiary, says his killers should stay in prison.

Two of the "Angola 3," Herman Wallace and Robert King have been released for the death of Miller in 1972. Wallace died of cancer in early October. The last of the group remains behind bars, but there's a push to have him released, too.

Amnesty International and King rallied at the state capitol Monday for Albert Woodfox, after his conviction was overturned by a judge.  The group delivered a petition with more than 25,000 signatures asking Gov. Bobby Jindal to release him.

Hardy Miller doesn't support the request.

"They shouldn't be out," he said. "They should never get out. They were tried by a 12-man jury and they should be locked up and stay locked up."

Despite a judge's ruling, Miller says Woodfox should remain behind bars.

"Why would they want to release him? He killed my brother," said Miller. "He was so dangerous he shouldn't have even been released with the other inmates."

Wallace remains in prison.
