EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Missing man reunited with mother
DENHAM SPRINGS - A man with medical disabilities is back with his family after days on the streets by himself.
Blake Speed left his grandmother's home Saturday after he told family members he wanted to see his father who is getting bone marrow treatments at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
"He misses his father tremendously and I have an idea that he was trying to get to Texas with his father," mother Laurie Speed said.
While Laurie and dozens of others were gathered near the family's home Monday, a taxi carrying Blake sped by them. Laurie ran home to her son's embrace.
The taxi picked Blake up at the bus station, the driver said.
"When we are in private, I'm going to found out what happened. I think he may have actually taken a bus somewhere," Laurie said. "It was like seeing him for the first time. I know he's like so surprised about all these people. But we all love him, and I think he needs to realize that how much we love him."
