EBR Middle School Student punched, receives stitches
BATON ROUGE- A sixth grade student at Capitol Middle School needed multiple stitches in her lip after a classmate punched her Monday.
It all stemmed from 12-year old Cabrea Lee telling the teacher on a 15 year old classmate according to Baton Rouge Police.
"She (the teacher) keeps up with her pencil," Lee said. "He walked in and took it like he was stealing it so I told the teacher."
Immediately after that, the 15-year old was removed from the classroom and placed in a special Time Out Room after he allegedly began making threats against the girl.
"He was like I'm going to slap you and make sure you never be able to tell on somebody," Lee said.
"She reported it and follows the rules," Yaskitha Williams, Lee's aunt said. "The teacher followed the rules and took him to the office. How did he get away from the office that's my question."
The attack occurred after the student was placed in a special Time Out Room. Right now, EBR School Spokesman Chris Trahan said it is unclear how he was able to make it back out into the hallway and beat up the girl.
Trahan said the 15-year old involved was recommended for expulsion.
