Dr. Z discusses virus which causes "water warts"
BATON ROUGE - Aesthetic dermatologist Dr. Ann Zedlitz discussed a viral infection today which could leave nodules on people's skin.
It's called molluscum contagiosum, and is sometimes called "water warts." The virus causes raised nodules on the skin, and can be passed by skin-to-skin contact or touching a surface with the virus on it, such as a towel, clothing, or toys.
Dr. Z discussed what to watch out for with this virus, and what treatment options exist.
