Detectives search near home of murdered woman
BATON ROUGE - Investigators searched the neighborhood around the home of a woman found shot to death along River Road looking for clues about her death.
Tiffany Degazon, 33, was found shot to death on River Road Saturday morning around 8 a.m. Passers-by thought something had blown out of their vehicle and went back to check when they found Degazon's body, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office.
Monday morning, detectives were just doors down from where Degazon lived off GSRI Avenue looking for any clues about her death. They dug through drains and piles of wood on the side of the road before talking to neighbors. One man removed dogs from outside a duplex before he invited investigators inside. They spent about half an hour in the duplex before detectives left.
Degazon's neighbors described her as a nice woman who kept to herself. They hope investigators got whatever clues they need to solve the puzzle of who is responsible for her death.
Detectives are not saying where they believe Degazon was shot to death, or how many bullets were fired. They hope witnesses will come forward with any information.
