BATON ROUGE - When Derrius Guice spoke Friday about the growth in maturity on this year's LSU football team, he could have been talking about himself.
"I had to realize everything wasn't centered around me," Guice said, speaking to the media for the first time in his sophomore seaon.
Guice was suspended in high school for what he called "doing my own thing," at Catholic High, but he says he's grown up during his time with the Tigers.
"I had to realize when you're on a team, there's no 'I,'" said Guice.
"Everyone's good in college. The high school ratings don't matter once you get here."
Guice ran for 445 yards and 3 touchdowns during his freshman season, and says he can improve greatly this year.
"We gotta be the strongest, the toughest, along with everyone else on the team."
