Deputies distribute toys in Christmas Crusade
LIVINGSTON PARISH - Sheriff Jason Ard's Christmas Crusade distributed toys to over 1,200 kids today.
Families opened their doors to Sheriff Deputies, who hand-delivered the toys to each household.
For many deputies, the Christmas Crusade is about connecting with the public in a positive way.
"It's seeing people when you go up to them," said Deputy Gene Higginbotham. "When you open the door and see the look on their face."
Families participating in the Crusade say the best part is watching their kids open presents on Christmas.
"It's a blessing to have this here in the parish," said one resident.
