Delivering mail in the rain
BATON ROUGE- "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds," reads the motto of the US Postal Service, a motto that came into play today as Troy Scott made his daily deliveries.
"It's a normal day in the neighborhood, you put on your raincoat, put on your shoes and just keep it kicking," said Scott.
Scott typically wears several layers during rainy days. He uses a raincoat to stay dry, a special cape to keep the mail dry and a wide brimmed hat to keep the water away from his face.
"Believe it or not, even though it's pouring, when we get the mail to your box, it's relatively dry," said Scott, who admits keeping the mail from getting wet is one of the most important tasks.
