Dardenne shows interest in 2015 governor's race
BATON ROUGE- Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne gave a familiar phrase when asked if he has considered running for governor saying, "I've got the job I love."
He followed with that by saying, "The only other job I would be interested in having would be governor."
Dardenne became the second state leader to express an interest in the job over the last two weeks. Hurricane Katrina hero Lt. General Russel Honore told News Two he is thinking about entering the 2015 race. Honore says he would like to address problems with poverty and infrastructure.
Dardenne says it will take hard work to pull Louisiana out of its bleak economic picture. He says he would offer more communication to get it done.
Dardenne was the featured speaker at Monday's meeting of the Baton Rouge Press Club.
