Crawford to pitch Thursday vs LSU
BATON ROUGE - Florida head coach Kevin O'Sullivan tells WBRZ Sports that right hand pitcher Jonathan Crawford(ankle injury) will get the start vs LSU Thursday night for the series opener.
The Gator ace passed a quick test on his ankle during the first portion of Florida's practice Wednesday night at Alex Box Stadium and was determined ready to take the mound the next day.
O'Sullivan had previously told Gainesville reporters he would wait to pitch Crawford until the season finale on Saturday.
Crawford(4.06 ERA) leads the Gators in innings pitched(64.1), strikeouts(52), and earned runs(29) this season.
LSU head coach Paul Mainieri said he will start Cody Glenn Thursday night, opting to keep Aaron Nola and Ryan Eades in their regular roles as Friday and Saturday starters.
