Couple gets married at WBRZ
BATON ROUGE- A couple tied the knot on a special day and at a special place.
Adrian Jackson and Edward Johnson got married on the 4th of July outside the WBRZ studios on Highland Road. The facilities are home to numerous oaks and gentle slopes, similar to a park.
"I've always liked the hills," bride Adrian said about why she chose the television compound for her wedding, a first in recent memory for those who work at the station.
"It's a perfect day on July 4th," she said.
A few family members and a justice of the peace gathered on a set of steps at the foot of a hill for the ceremony. At the top, Adrian stood in the evening sunlight waiting for her dream to come true.
Eventually, she gracefully made the short walk to her husband-to-be and heard the traditional words: "I know pronounce you husband and wife."
Her husband, Edward, said there was no discussion about where to have the wedding he said after the ceremony. It is what his new wife wanted.
Following the marriage, the family enjoyed the fireworks downtown and had dinner together.
