College Goal Sunday
BATON ROUGE - Preparing for the financial burden of college can be a hassle for students and parents. There's an opportunity for you to relieve some of that pressure this weekend.
Financial aid professionals from around the area will be on hand at College Goal Sunday to help you fill out your FAFSA application. It must be completed to receive TOPS, need-based scholarships and more.
"Every year there are millions of dollars left on the table in federal funds," Gus Wales with the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Aid explains. "FAFSA is...the gateway application to be considered for TOPS, and a number of federal programs including pell grants (and) work study programs."
There are two help sessions in Baton Rouge this weekend. One is at Baton Rouge Community College and another at Southern University. A third is being held at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.
Visit the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance website for more information.
