Chef KD's fried green tomatoes
BATON ROUGE - Chef KD whipped up a southern specialty today in the WBRZ kitchen: fried green tomatoes.
Chef KD said one thing he does to make the fry batter for his tomatoes different is to use less milk and more water, and mix in some romano cheese with the bread crumbs used to make the batter.
He also said when preparing the tomatoes to try to keep them ice-cold, because it will help the batter to stick to them.
