Catholics still questioning birth control policy

Related Story

BATON ROUGE- After changing a controversial policy mandating religious organizations offer birth control to it's employees through insurance, the Obama administration is still getting concern from Catholics.

The President announced today that companies would not have to offer contraceptives to employees if it was against their beliefs, and instead insurance agencies would pick up the slack.

"Religious organizations won't have to pay for these services, and no religious institution will have to provide these services directly. But women who work at these institutions will have access to free contraceptive services, just like other women," said the President.

Catholic leaders are still uncertain about the decision, despite the President's attempt to quell their concerns, and add they'll hold their opinions until they know more about the change.

"I am a strong catholic, so I can see both sides to this argument, however, I think it's just too much government, government needs to stay out of it," said local Catholic Lorilin Braymer.

Still, not all Catholics feel the decision is a bad idea.

"That should be an individuals choice, regardless of who they work for, it should be their choice," said Catholic Jo Banta.
