Capitol beats up Independence

BATON ROUGE - The Capitol High Lions went just 3-7 last year, but they started fast out of the gate to start the 2013 season with a 27-6 lashing of Independence Thursday night.

The first regular season game in the area started off with just a 7-0 Capitol lead at halftime, but the Lions quickly marched down the field in the third quarter spearheaded by a spectacular 47-yard throw by Lion quarterback Anthony Thomas.
