Campaigns bring ground game as elections near
BATON ROUGE- It's an all-out rush to the polls as the final hours before the elections wane and volunteers go into overdrive to get the vote out.
Some campaign volunteers are using apps to go door-to-door and speak with people they know support their candidate, encouraging them to get the ballot box on Tuesday.
"The experience has been tremendous, I get to talk to people face to face about how they feel about the current state of the nation," said David Scotton, who was traveling through Central to encourage voters.
Other people are manning the phones to ensure voters pick their candidate.
"What drives us is the excitement as opposed to the stress, we channel that stress in order to get out there and ask people to go vote, to go vote for the candidate that they believe is right," said Brad Zahra, who was doing all he could to convince people to vote.
The polls open tomorrow at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. You can stick with WBRZ and WBRZ.com for the very latest on election day, including your first look at the results when the polls close.
