CABL President and CEO Barry Erwin
BATON ROUGE - Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL) CEO and President Barry Erwin joined us on 2une in Tuesday to talk about all things dealing with the legislative session.
Erwin talked about Gov. Bobby Jindal's opening address to the legislators. One of Jindal's key points that Erwin believes is important is job training.
"We're in the midst of a huge industrial expansion all across Louisiana," Erwin explained. "Workforce is the key with this and tying that into higher education and career opportunties.
He also discussed the Democrats' response to the governor's initial address. Erwin believes their criticism of Jindal's travel plans is fair, but also acknowledges that it is something that has been going on for awhile.
"A lot of the issues this session wont be driver by the governor," Erwin said. "Instead, they will be driven by key legislators."
The five issues that Erwin believes will spark the most debate are common core, budgetary issues, anti-sodomy laws, medical marijuana and minimum wage.
