Broome wins nail-biting mayoral election
BATON ROUGE – Sharon Broome defeated Bodi White in a nail-biting race for EBR Mayor-President Saturday.
White and Broome were around 2,000 votes apart for much of the evening. Broome ended up securing more voters – defeating White by about 2,000.
Broome is a former state legislator.
Broome succeeds Kip Holden who was term-limited.
