BATON ROUGE - The Baton Rouge Area Chamber said they see an all-time high for employment in the Baton Rouge region's future.

Adam Knapp presented BRAC's economic outlook for 2015 Tuesday. The forecast shows a historic rise in employment.

"Almost every indicator you can find points to an incredibly positive economic outlook for the next year to two years, not only looking at last year but the forecast for next year," said Knapp. "All-time record highs in employment are an indicator to business owners and citizens that this is an incredibly positive economy to be in and be participating in."

Knapp says the Baton Rouge region will surpass 400,000 non-farm jobs for the first time ever within the next few months. The BRAC report shows 17,000 new jobs around the Capital Region with a decrease in unemployment claims.

"There's almost everywhere in our economy expansion of new employment happening, and that means there's a lot of opportunity for citizens to not only move up in their own career but perhaps switch careers," said Knapp.

Knapp hopes businesses and citizens will use the economic forecast report to better understand the region's economy. You can find the full report here.
