Booking it with Big Baby
BATON ROUGE- LSU alumnus and NBA power forward, Glen Davis, is giving back to the Baton Rouge community. This morning he stopped by 2une In with Kali Johnson to talk to John Pastorek about his mission to challenge children to read.
Davis is currently traveling around the area to promote his "Booking it with Big Baby" literacy tour. The program is meant to inspire and teach kids the importance of reading.
"We tell them that reading is fundamental," said Davis. "The things that are attached to reading go so far, so we basically just get them excited to read.
Davis' foundation is opening up a second reading center in the area. It was unveiled Tuesday morning at the Carver Library.
"There are cool interactive programs, a couple electronic tablets, and a nice little reading nook," said Johnson. "Just things that will empower kids to read and really get them excited about learning."
