Boaters celebrate Fourth of July on False River
NEW ROADS - Many boaters took advantage of the beautiful Fourth of July weather by cruising False River.
B.J. Burnett brought his sons and their friends out for a tubing trip. Burnett says it's nice to make memories on the water.
"Just out here on the river having a good time with the kids. They like to come out and tube, wake board and knee board," he said. "It means everything, everything in the world to spend some quality family time with my kids and my wife."
His two sons agreed that False River was the perfect place to celebrate America's birthday.
"It's awesome," said Trey Burnett. "Whenever you're inside you're all cramped up always seeing the same stuff, but once you come out here it's like what am I missing."
The city of New Roads will hold its annual boat parade on False River Saturday. News 2's Troy Gaulden will be one of the judges.
