Big Buddy preparing for reunion

BATON ROUGE - The Big Buddy Program is looking back at the impact it's had in the 35 years since its founding in 1979.

People in the community say the program allowed them to live a life they had only dreamed of before joining. The group started as one, small neighborhood group but now serves more than 1,000 kids every week. News Two's Rebecca Buchanan caught up with a couple people from that first group this morning on 2une In.

Charles Hill still remembers the day the Big Buddy group came knocking on his door. He saw it as a way to play ball and have fun after school, but it turned out to be much more. He says it's what made him a success.

"it lets me know that if you use your gifts and talents, you can play a positive role in other individual's lives," he explains. "if somebody helps us, we should be able to give back and to help somebody else."
