Bayou Corne residents gather one year after sinkhole discovered
BAYOU CORNE, La. - Families gathered today in Assumption Parish for the somber reminder.
It's a year to the day since a massive sinkhole was discovered near Bayou Corne.
Homes in the area are currently in a buy-out process with the company Texas Brine.
"People are leaving in droves. For those who want to stay our community is going to be greatly diminished," says Dennis Landry.
According to Texas Brine, a little more than 60 homeowners accepted the buyouts
